Over the March long weekend the SA Optimist State Championships were held in conjunction with the Adelaide International Regatta at the Adelaide Sailing Club. With 36 entrants from five clubs including one interstate entrant it was a very successful event.
Matt Meaney took home the AIR trophy and Alex Higgins won the state title with Matt second by only two points.
The winner of the green fleet state title and AIR was Alex Magarey.
Angus Higgins was awarded a prize for being the most improved sailor since last year.
The Opti Association would like to thank all the parents who helped over the weekend, ASC for running a great regatta, Zhik for donating our major prizes, Ella Bache for donating prizes for the top 5 girls in open fleet and Quantum for donating some minor prizes.
