2026 State Sqad Registrations

Regrations for the State Squad are open!

These squads will be run by IODASA and are in addition to any Club training the
sailors continue to participate in.

📅 The training schedule with run from 20th September to 15th December 2026, to align the
athlete’s peak performance with the commencement of the Optimist Nationals in
Brighton, VIC in Jan 2027.

Squad options on offer are: 

1. Open - this squad is targeted at sailors keen to attend qualification for
   AOST squads for 2026/7
2. Developing - this squad is targeted at advanced intermediate sailors and or
   new to open sailors looking to advance to AOST selections beyond 2027.

This program is aimed at developing high performance sailors and will involve a
significant commitment from accepting squad members.

📍 Training Sessions will be as follows:

• • Thursday evening from 4:20pm until 7pm at Brighton. Sundays normally 10am to 4pm (weather dependent) split between at Brighton, Largs, and Goolwa.
  • Thursday evening training starts 8^th October.
  • Sunday training start 20^th September.

🙋‍♂️ Coach: We are excited to have Jonus Barrat as our coach for this years State Squad. Jonus has such a vast amount of knowlege and experience to share with all our sailors. 

🪙 Cost for the state squad training is $900. Please note that on water support at the Nationals will incurr a separate cost.
