IODASA is seeking expressions of interest from South Australian Optimist sailors to participate in an intensive state-based squad training program, subject to subscription numbers.

These squads are run by IODASA and are designed to complement, not replace, any ongoing Club training.

🗓 Training Period: September to December 2025 🎯 Goal: Align athlete peak performance with the 2026 Optimist Nationals in Tasmania (January)

Squad Options:

• Open Squad – For sailors aiming to qualify for the AOST squads for 2025/26.

• Developing Squad – For advanced intermediate sailors or those new to Open, targeting AOST selection beyond 2026.

This high-performance program requires a significant commitment from selected squad members. Training locations and times will vary to take advantage of optimal weather conditions. A schedule is attached as a guide, but please note that exact dates and venues may change.

• Squad numbers are limited to ensure high-quality coaching.

• Submission of an EOI does not guarantee placement.

• Final squad selections will be based on coach recommendations following the September Spring Clinic.

• We aim to accommodate as many sailors as possible.

💰 Indicative Cost: Approximately $800 (subject to final numbers and budget)

There is no obligation to commit until squad selections are finalized post-Spring Clinic. Further details will be provided during the Clinic.
